Gollapudi’s book chronicles century-old Telugu story

The 1,400- page volume comprises stories of 116 writers

Chronicling the journey of Telugu story for a century since Gurajada Appa Rao penned the first in 1910, noted writer and actor Gollapudi Maruti Rao will bring out a book ‘Vandella Kadhaku Vandanalu.’

The compilation comprises stories of 116 writers who contributed significantly to the Telugu literature in the genre, interviews with them and the opinion of the author. At a pre-release press conference, Mr. Maruti Rao said the 1400-page volume had 500 rare pictures. At regular intervals of 25 stories, figure the well-known writers Chaso, Kaliptnam Rama Rao, Kodavatiganti Kutumba Rao, Madurantakam Rajaram and concludes with Sri Sri.

Mr. Maruti Rao said interviews were obtained after a laborious search for the writers. The book would be released soon in Hyderabad in their presence.
