Table tennis tournament off to a glittering start

Municipal Commissioner Azeem on Thursday asked the students to work with dedication and commitment to scale heights in life.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the three-day State ranking table tennis tournament at DRRMC indoor stadium, he exhorted the students to set goals at the early age and work hard with dedication towards reaching the goal. “Hard work and commitment will bring success.

Be it sports or education, one should plan properly and also learn how to execute it. One should always dream big,” he said.

Sunflower Group chairman, M.D.V.S.R. Punnam Raju, welcomed the students for the tournament and asked them develop necessary skills through participation in extracurricular activities like sports and cultural programmes for the overall development. He said sports would develop broader thinking and the ability to face tougher challenges. Krishna District Table Tennis Association president, K.V.S Prakash, in his presidential remarks said that over 350 players from all over the State were participating in the tournament. He said that they would give prizes to the winners at the valedictory to be held on August 11. Andhra Pradesh Table Tennis Association Vice-President P. Viswanath, Secretary S.M. Sultan, Krishna District Table Tennis Association patron Ilapuram Raja, KIMS Hospital director Dr. Murali Krishna, Municipal Corporation sports director, and P. V. Ramakrishna were present.
