Global playschool inaugurated

Playschools of the city will have to make a quantum leap to compete with global playschool “Gymboree” which was inaugurated in the city by district Collector Babu A. on Saturday.

With headquarters in San Francisco, Gymboree has franchisees in over 44 countries. A young couple from the city S Aswin Kumar, an engineer who did his post-graduation in Economics in UK and his wife Krishna Prabha, a software engineer, have made Vijayawada the fourth city in the country after Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad to have a Gymboree Play and Music school.

Explaining the Gymboree philosophy, Mr Aswin Kumar said a child’s brain was most active in the first years. Relationships and experiences children had during these initial years played a very critical role in the development and overall design of the child’s brain.

International Chess player Koneru Humpy, Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad and Kapu Corporation chairman Ramanjaneyulu were present.
