Girl suffers burns in acid attack

A 22-year-old youth and his associate allegedly threw acid on a girl studying in class 9 in Tiruvuru town in Krishna district on Saturday.

The girl suffered burns on hands.

She was admitted in Tiruvuru government hospital, where she was said to be out of danger.

The attack took place when the girl was returning home from a private school.

The accused, Kode Chanti , a neighbour of the victim, had allegedly stalked the girl on several occasions earlier.

The girl’s mother told the police that the youth had teased her daughter on several occasions.

The Tiruvuru police booked a case against the accused, who is absconding.
