Girl dies of snake bite, her brother critical

A 11-year-old girl Bolla Kalpana died of snake bite in Katriki village in Alur mandal in Kurnool District and her six-year-old brother B. Easwar is battling for life in a critical condition.

Bolla Venkatesham and his wife Venkateswaramma, who were asleep in their hut, woke up to the cries of their children and found froth emanating from their mouth late on Thursday night. When the children told parents that they were bitten by a snake, the couple rushed them to the Government Hospital at Adoni.

On the advice of doctors, they rushed the two children to Kurnool when Kalpana died en route. Easwar was admitted to Kurnool General Hospital and his condition is said to be critical.
