Future advancements in Electronics and Instrumentation technologies will revolutionise the world and the time has come to establish domain expertise universities to train students in a particular technology, said Managing Director of Efftronics Systems Private Limited D. Ramakrishna.
Addressing students of RVR & JC College of Engineering at the 47th Engineers Day celebrations, Mr. Ramakrishna said that future belonged to revolutionary technologies and asked the students to think innovatively.
“Smart technologies like Internet of Things (IoT) will create millions of jobs in the coming 20 years but are there any courses linked to IoT? I am afraid that there are few courses. Students assume ECE is the sole gateway to jobs giving lesser importance to other courses, and we are going to lose a golden opportunity if students are not trained in future technologies,” Mr. Ramakrishna said.
Nagarajuna Educational Society president K. Basavapunniah said that Dr. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was a role model for every engineer in the country whose sincerity, honesty made him a legendary engineer.
Principal A. Sudhakar said that Dr. Visvesvaraya was a tireless engineer who was constantly thinking of innovation till his death. Even at the age of 95 years, he remained physically and mentally active.
Dean of Academic Affairs and HoD of Mechanical Engineering, Ravindra Kommineni was also present.
At Acharya Nagarjuna University, students and staff felicitated senior engineers U.V Krishnam Raju and Venkateswara Rao marking the Engineers Day. Dean P. Siddahaiah and Principal E. Sreenivasa Reddy were present.
Engineers Day was also celebrated at Vignan University and at Vignan Nirula Institute of Technology, Palakaluru.
