The head offices of AP-Genco and AP-Transco are set for inauguration at Vidyut Soudha in Gunadala next week. It has been more than two-and-a-half years since the bifurcation took place and only a few officers and employees of the public sector power utilities are yet to shift to their new headquarters in Vijayawada.

Over 1,000 officers and employees will be fully functional from Andhra Pradesh’s own Vidyut Soudha in the coming days, according to official sources.

Transco Joint Managing Director Dinesh Paruchuri started functioning at his chambers in the G+5 building which accommodates the head offices of both Genco and Transco.

Two Directors of Transco started discharging their duties from the city on Wednesday.

Mr. Dinesh followed up his entry into the new office with a review meeting that mostly dwelt on matters of coordination between the operational circles of A.P and Telangana.

A handful of the heads of departments, who were till recently stationed in Hyderabad, started moving to Vijayawada upon clear instructions to take charge without further delay.

Meanwhile, the office of K. Vijayanand, the Chairman and Managing Director of Transco and Managing Director of Genco, is expected to be inaugurated on April 17. The State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) has for all practical purposes started scheduling and despatching electricity to the grid.
