Students taught the basics of various aspects of photography

Framing for photographs and composition for artworks are the important elements in creating masterpieces, said renowned photographer Sudhakar hailing from city.

As chief guest at the photography art contest conducted by Spoorthi Creative Art School, he explained to the students the basics of how to use a camera, lens protection and shutter speed etc. Photos have become and integral part of everybody’s life and if one observes keenly, nature has a lot to offer for every photographer, he opined.

Artists and photographers share a close relation because both of them capture and freeze a certain moment, said the School Director G. Srinivas. Photos have day by day become very important in daily life to capture our favourite moments, he added. With advanced cameras coming into the hands because of cell phones everybody is a photographer now, he observed.

The school director taught the students basics about usage of the Photoshop software, explained to them the importance of the mixture of RGB colours and showed them how to change the black & white photos into colour and vice-versa.

A photo art contest was held to celebrate the World Photography Day on Sunday where a picture was blown up in size and kids were asked to re-create the photo on a canvas. The winners in junior category were Garima Yadav from Sri Chaitanya Olympiad School in the first, M. Meghana from Nalanda Vidya Nikethan in second and Sahithya from V.P.S. Public School in the third place.

Anushka Yadav from Sri Chaitanya Olympiad School secured the first place, I. Sruthi from Andhra Loyola College the second and S. Pranathi from Nalanda Vidya Nikethan secured the third place in the seniors’ category.

Winners for the Mother India Coconut Art contest were also distributed prizes at this programme. Winners in the junior category were Garima Yadav from Sri Chaitanya Olympiad School in the first, R. Alekhya from Nalanda Vidya Nikethan in the second and D. Mohan Vamsi from Nirmala High School in the third place.

In the senior category G. Srija from V.P.S stood in the first place, Manjusha from K.L. University in the second place and Anushka Yadav from Sri Chaitanya Olympiad School stood in the third place from the senior category.
