Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is saying that he is ready to go to court to get what is due to Andhra Pradesh in the Reorganisation Act, after a lapse of four years, but it is indeed too late, according to Rajya Sabha member K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao of Congress.
Mr. Ramachandra Rao, in a six-page letter to Mr. Naidu said that economy and the situation in Andhra Pradesh would have been totally different if he insisted that the Central government released funds for building the Polavaram project, gave Special Category Status, railway zone, Dugarajapatnam port, Kadapa steel factory and others stipulated in the Reorganisation Act in the very first year. It was too late to threaten to go to court at this stage, the MP opined.
Mr. Ramachandra Rao asked why Mr. Naidu was so scared to confront the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Polavaram, the port and the steel factory would have been either completed or in the final stages, Mr. Ramachandra Rao stated.
Charging Mr. Naidu of giving priority to vested interests, the MP said that the people of Andhra Pradesh were forced to suffer irreversible loss because of it. The TDP should use its MPs for implementation of the Reorganisation Act, the MP said. Even now it was not late, he said.
If Mr. Naidu did not do it at this stage, his political career would be forever tainted, Mr. Ramachandra Rao pointed out.
