According to the police, the family would have consumed poisonAccording to the neighbours, Ramu was running an artificial gold ornaments shop and was also into gold mortgage finance business. On receipt of the news, several people who had pledged their gold turned up at the residence. Shanta Lakshmi, a colony resident said she had pledged gold worth Rs. 3 lakh a couple of months ago at an interest rate of Rs.1.50 per 100. It is believed that over 100 such people had taken loans by pledging gold. Another person said that Ramu in return pledged the gold with some other person and was rotating the cash, and that person would have done something with the gold and his finances were stuck. However, the family members negated this version and said that he had no financial problems but had some domestic problems and as this was his second marriage.
