Foolproof security arrangements are in place at the strongrooms of Acharya Nagarjuna University where Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are kept, District Collector and District Election Officer S. Suresh Kumar said here on Saturday.

Mr. Suresh Kumar said all strongrooms had been wired with round-the-clock closed circuit cameras and a vigil by CRPF jawans. Fire security alarms have also been fixed at the strongrooms.

Counting will take place for all seven Assembly segments in the Guntur Lok Sabha constituency at ANU on May 16. Counting for the Tenali Assembly segment will take place at the Central Block of the university.

Details of polling personnel who enter the premises will be recorded in the log book, the Collector said.

Joint Collector and Returning Officer for the Narsaraopet Lok Sabha segment, Vivek Yadav, inspected the security arrangements at the strongroom on the premises of Loyola Public School at Nallapadu.

Earlier, Mr. Suresh Kumar said all due care should be taken during counting.
