“Earn while you study systems should be brought about”

August 20, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 09:36 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the Vice Chancellors of important universities in the State to focus on improving the research component in their institutions.

In a meeting with the VCs at the Krishna Pushkaram Command and Control Room here on Friday, Mr. Naidu said youth had come up with some innovative ideas that helped in the smooth conduct of the festival and that they had the potential to do many wonders in the technological and other fields. He suggested that a system wherein the youth could earn while pursing their studies like their counterparts in the U.S. do, should be brought about for the betterment of their future.

Real-time monitoring of the performance of students would help teachers and also their parents in extracting the best out of them in a planned manner. The students should be given counselling at the same time so that they did not crack under the pressure of expectations but take the challenges head on.

Treasure trove of learning resources

Mr. Naidu said the Fibre Grid, which is set to be rolled out soon, would make a treasure–trove of learning resources available online to the students. It also facilitates interaction between various stakeholders through tele-presence.

Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Palle Raghunadha Reddy, P. Narayana and Kamineni Srinivas, Krishna Pushkaram Special Officer B. Rajasekhar and Krishna District Collector A. Babu were among those present.
