The sixth batch passing out from the two-year diploma in fisheries from the M.V.K.R. Fisheries Polytechnic College of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University has completed ‘Work Experience Programme’. A total of 28 students (2012-14 batch) have been attached to several aqua industries in coastal Andhra Pradesh as a part of their Work Experience Programme. “The students including eight girls have successfully completed the programme and gained a direct experience in various areas of aqua culture such as hatcheries, processing plants, fish feed mills and aqua labs,” said M.V.K.R. principal K.S. Krishna Rao.
All the previous five batches passed out from the institution are now in the aqua industry in Andhra Pradesh and the sixth batch is also likely to be associated with the industry. Many aqua companies have been in touch with the college authorities as there is a great need for qualified and technical staff for the flourishing aqua industry. “The campus recruitment for the passing out candidates will be conducted on June 23 on the college campus under the aegis of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University,” said Mr. Krishna Rao.
