Fire breaks out in Chilakaluripet Andhra Bank

A major fire broke out in the Andhra Bank branch here in Chilakaluripet on Tuesday. Fire services personnel are trying to put out the blaze. It was believed to be caused by an electrical short circuit and the loss is expected to be sizable.

District Fire Officer Sk. Jilani said that the fire would be extinguished in about an hour and it appeared to be due to a short circuit. However, the strong room was reported to be safe.

The exact cause of fire is being investigated by officials of the Fire Department while the town police are also conducting inquiry.
