Three-year-old Dolly Shivani, the child prodigy from Vijayawada, who made news for her archery skills, is all set make her debut in films.

The toddler hit the headlines all over the world when she created a new record in archery last month by punching 378 points in the five and seven kilometres distances – both in recurve segment – to enter the India Book of Records. In fact she was asked to shoot 200 points by the publishers.

Inborn talent

“Film writer Sanjeev of ‘Osey Ramulamma’ fame inspired by inborn talent has decided to make a feature film and registered the name of film as - Dolly Shivani. A script has already been written and the film will be based on a flashback of the child’s father,” said Shivani’s father and chairman of the Volga Archery Academy Satyanarayana said.

The nucleus of the film will be the efforts by Shivani’s father, the protagonist, convincing the coach who refuses to train the child in archery. “He (Shivani’s father) shares all the trials, tribulations and the ignominy he faced after the death of his daughter and son and the reasons to make the little child an Olympian,” Mr Satyanarayana added.

“Sanjeev and I were active in our early days with ‘Praja Natya Mandali’, the cultural wing of the CPI, formed to create awareness with art forms like music, dance and drama,” Mr Satyanarayana said.
