Few takers for Kiran’s party in Guntur district

Five-time Congress MP Rayapati too backs away after initially supporting the ex-CM

March 12, 2014 12:20 pm | Updated May 19, 2016 08:05 am IST - GUNTUR:

The new party floated by former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy seems to have few takers in the political circles in Guntur district.

The announcement of ‘Jai Samaikyandhra’ has not generated the excitement as anticipated.

Political heavyweight and five-time Congress MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, who had been vocal in his support to Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy, has now backed out.

Mr. Sambasiva Rao has been conspicuous by his absence in the meetings held at Hyderabad recently.

His family members are tight-lipped about his moves even as the senior Congress leader remains at the crossroads of his future after being in active politics for close to four decades.
