Fast for special status to AP launched

Registering his protest against the delay in conferment of Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh by the BJP-led Central Government, Sai Krishna Kota, Assistant Professor and Training and Placement Officer in Gudlavalleru Engineering College, sat on a relay hunger fast opposite Sarada College in Satyanarayanapuram on Wednesday.

Former MLC K. S. Lakshman Rao formally opened the hunger strike camp and extended his full support for the cause. He said demand for a special status must come strongly from students, teachers and employees. Krishna district coordinator of Communist Party of India Akkineni Vanaja, APNGOs’ city unit president K. Ravi, training and placement officers of four districts in the region and members of AP Journalists Forum visited the fast camp and extended their support.
