FAME to audit Youth Congress polls

April 18, 2012 01:45 pm | Updated 01:45 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The Foundation for Advanced Management of Elections (FAME) will independently audit the membership and elections process of the Indian Youth Congress, the youth wing of the Indian National Congress.

The FAME, an NGO created by former Chief Election Commissioner Lyngdoh, will ensure that elections to the Youth Congress are impartial and open to participation by all. In preparation to the elections the voters list is being scrutinised. Youth Congress members can access the voters list at www.iyc.in/Andhrapradesh or refer to a copy available at the District Congress Committee office. A Lok Sabha Returning Officer (LRO) will tour all segments of the Lok Sabha constituency spending a day in each Assembly segment.

LRO for Vijayawada constituency V. Venkatesh will accept corrections to the voters list during the scrutiny period only. Members who have been placed in the wrong booth, Assembly segment or have been missed completely can apply for a correction by producing the original membership receipt and documentary proof.

The tour schedule of the LRO will be released shortly. Those interested in further information could call the Youth Congress Helpdesk : 1800-425-1357 or email at support@iyc.in.
