Fake pensioners’ racket: Four more held

Vigilance and Enforcement (V&E) officials continued raids at various places and arrested four persons who were drawing pensions illegally. The vigilance sleuths arrested three fake pensioners earlier.

Regional Vigilance and Enforcement Officer (RVEO) M. Ravindranath Babu said the accused were drawing pensions, worth crores of rupees for over 15 years.

The arrested include Maganti Venkat Rao of Gollapudi in Vijayawada. He was drawing ₹34,516 pension per month since 2003. Surapaneni Sarojini Devi of Patamata, was drawing ₹24,406 per month since 2003. She collected ₹24 lakh so far.

Another accused, Ravicerla Satyanarayana of Kuchipudi village in Krishna district, was drawing ₹34,314 per month since 2001, while Yenduri Rambabu of Pamarru, was drawing ₹31,000 since 2001, and the accused collected ₹.35 lakh in the last 16 years, said the RVEO.
