‘Uninfluenced’ by partisan views expressed by some ministers on the capital issue, the expert committee will come out with a scientific report by month-end giving options for the Union and State Governments on location of State capital, it said here on Sunday.
“We will go about the task in a scientific manner and come out with suggestions to ensure balanced regional development in the State with focus on uplifting backward Rayalaseema and Uttarandhra,” Committee members K. T. Ravindran and Aromar Ravi told the media here after eliciting views of the Prakasam district administration, representatives of political parties and civil society organisations on the sensitive issue. “We will provide a set of choices on location of the capital and come out with a sustainable economic development model keeping in view the challenge of climate change. It is up to the Union and State governments to take a final call,” added the experts who visited VANPIC lands in Kothapatnam and Donokanda identified by the district administration for locating capital
