Students of the V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College and the P.V.P. Siddhartha Institute of Technology on Monday were taken through a virtual tour of opportunities available across the globe for engineering graduates.

The Hindu in association with the IDP Education conducted a seminar on Overseas Education Awareness and Opportunities in the V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College premises.

Speaking at the inaugural session, V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College principal Dr. A.V. Ratna Prasad called upon the students to aim high and reach their goals with apt career planning.

He said the students of both the colleges had the greatest advantage of transferring credits earned during graduation to post-graduation courses in foreign universities. “This helps them save time and overcome financial burden.”

Speakers representing various universities in different countries presented the prospects of education in the respective universities and colleges.

Maneesh Prem Chandra of the IDP Education India said the seminar was to help students explore educational opportunities in top institutions of Australia, U.S., Canada, U.K. and New Zealand.

He said the IDP was one of the first student placement advisers certified by the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC). The AIRC certification, gold standard for student placement service providers, was significantly considered by the U.S. Schools, he added.

The IDP had been working closely with several Indian institutes to assist and advise students on overseas education opportunities, he said.
