K. Krishna Vamshi took first admission in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) branch in the counselling which began at Koneru Lakshmaiah University (KLU) on Thursday. Another student, Imran Khan, got first seat in Mechanical branch under sports category in the university. Several students appeared for counselling under SC, ST, BC, Sports and NCC categories on the first day.
KLU vice-president Koneru Raja Hareen, Vice-Chancellor L.S.S. Reddy and other staff handed over the forms confirming admissions to Mr. Vamshi and Mr. Khan.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Raja Hareen said the response for counselling was good and students evinced much interest in joining the new courses – Agriculture and Petroleum Engineering – which were being offered from this academic year.
Counselling would be conducted for those who secured ranks in the Eamcet and for students who got eligibility in JEE Advanced examination in the morning session on Friday. Counselling would be held for the students who secured good ranks in KLUEEE exam in the afternoon, said the Vice-Chancellor.
