Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has called for a bandh of all engineering colleges in the eight districts that fall under the purview of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University –Kakinada, on Thursday.

The bandh is being called protesting the university signing a pact with Hyderabad-based company Globarena for valuation of answer sheets.

Over three lakh students are enrolled under JNTU-K across the eight districts for various courses such as B.Tech, M.Tech, Pharmacy and MBA.

According to ABVP national executive member P. Suresh, the university has tied-up with Globarena for conduct of examination and valuation of answer sheet, and the agreement is against the guidelines.

ABVP demanded that the agreement be scrapped and a fresh global tender be called inviting reputed and experienced firms who can value the answer sheets.
