Emulate TN counterparts, Chiru tells MPs

May 17, 2010 09:04 pm | Updated 09:04 pm IST - TIRUVURU (Krishna dt):

Stressing the need for bringing pressure on the Centre, Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi on Sunday urged the Andhra Pradesh Members of Parliament to emulate their Tamil Nadu counterparts in getting funds and projects for their home state.

Addressing meetings during his second day's Polavaram Sadhana Yatra in Krishna district, Mr. Chiranjeevi wanted the MPs hailing from the State to make united efforts to get the national project status to the Polavaram project so that this long-cherished desire of people was fulfilled without further delay. He said that there should be collective effort on the part of all parties and leaders belonging to the State.

Mr. Chiranjeevi's yatra began late in the evening, as he chose not to begin the meetings at 3 p.m. considering the prevailing mild heat wave conditions.

He addressed meetings at Gampalagudem, Vinagadapa and other places. The district leaders made arrangements for his yatra to cover G. Kondur and Ibrahimpatnam area before heading to Tenali for night halt.
