‘Election Cell’ opened in Vijayawada

The City Police opened an ‘Election Cell’ at the Special Branch office here on Monday, which will oversee the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Vijayawada Police Commissioner B. Srinivasulu said one can register complaints related to elections at the Election Cell and urged the voters to alert the police over violation of Model Code of Conduct, distribution of money or liquor, campaigning beyond the stipulated time and others. The voters can also dial the following number for alerting the police --Crime Stopper No.1090/ 9642262372, Special Branch Office (0866-2491001), Police Control Room-I (0866-2579999) or Police Control Room-II (9440906878).
