April 25, 2014 11:41 pm | Updated May 21, 2016 01:22 pm IST - MACHILIPATNAM:

In a bizarre incident, a group of anti-congress youth on Friday hurled eggs at Congress election campaign committee Chairman K. Chiranjeevi while he was addressing a gathering at Machilipatnam in Krishna district.

The youth resorted to the step when he described the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as a ‘Tyrant’.

Loud speakers

Mr. Chiranjeevi had to take a pause until police took the situation under their control at Koneru Centre, where Telugu Desam Party workers attempted to draw the attention from the gathering with a dominated volume of the loud speakers.

However, police nabbed the two suspected youth who reportedly hurled eggs at Mr. Chiranjeevi, promising a peaceful environment for the public meet.

“Mr. Modi is an Indian Hitler. He is deliberately sidelining a great row of statesmen of the BJP including former Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee and L.K. Advani,” Mr. Chiranjeevi had said.

Attack on BJP

He also called the BJP a communal party and said that the YSRC had roots of criminal ideology.

Revealing his poor geographical knowledge, he said the residuary Andhra Pradesh would have a coastline of above 1,000 km, he promised to encourage industries along the coastline.
