The City Police have set up Economic Offences Wing (EOW), which deals with crime related to cheating of finance companies, chits and money circulation schemes.
Speaking at the Crime Review Meeting here on Wednesday, City Police Commissioner A.B. Venkateswara Rao said an ACP, two Circle Inspectors and other staff will man the wing. The wing will keep a vigil on the activities of private chits, finance companies, money circulation schemes and other organisations which were collecting money from people and detect fraud.
Mr. Rao discussed on investigation of various cases, functioning of reception counters, FIR at your door-step, performance of Dial 100, counselling for couples in family disputes and other cases. Two Blue colts vehicles would be provided to each town police station, one Rakshak and Blue colt vehicles to each rural station in the city, he said.
