The Hyderabad highway passing by the Indrakeeladri will be closed for vehicular traffic from September 11 to December 31 to facilitate the Durga flyover construction as per the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to complete the project by March 31, 2018.

In a review meeting on the project on Saturday, Mr. Naidu said alternative roads should be developed for handling the diverted traffic. He wanted devotees visiting the Kanaka Durga temple on foot to use the highway in view of the Dasara festival from September 20 to 30.

Mr. Naidu instructed Soma Developers to expedite the project and warned of punitive action if targets were not met.

Officials told Mr. Naidu that the Krishna eastern canal would be closed from November 15 to January 15 and February 1 to March 31 for construction of the flyover.

Mr. Naidu announced the clearing of the widening of Ramavarappadu - Auto Nagar, Gollapudi - Shahbad and Nunna-Gunadala roads at a combined cost of approximately ₹25 crore.
