The youth were asked to create their niche and identity for successful career. Maris Stella College organised a national youth forum on ‘Know Thyself' as part of its golden jubilee celebrations, here on Friday.
On the occasion, the speakers said youth should not look for mercy of others. Neither the jobs can be secured nor can successful career be built at the mercy of others. The youth should emulate Mother Theresa and be merciful to others, but not crave for other's mercy, they said, adding, “communication skills, dynamism, and sincerity were some of the qualities that a service sector looks for.”

Prasad, Global Medical Education and Research Director K.S. Ratnakar, Straberry People founder Sanjay, College principal P. Workshop
The Library Department of the college organised a one-day workshop on library computerisation and networking. On the occasion, Library department head Syamalamba said the college had a rich collection of more than 70,000 books, and journals etc. The college received best library award in ANU. Ms. Syamalamba said about 20 librarians from Guntur, Tenali, Narasaraopeta, and Vijayawada underwent training at the workshop on library automation. Hyderabad-based Verus Solutions Pvt. Ltd was providing New Gen Lib, open source software, for the libraries. The company would transfer the technology to the libraries planning to computerise their operations, she said.
Andhra Pradesh Library Association secretary Raavi Sarada, who inaugurated the workshop, said networking of libraries would help in identifying the books available at other libraries.
