Members of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), A.P. Government Doctors’ Association and Junior Doctors’ Association took out a rally from the new government hospital to Ramavarappadu Junction here on Friday demanded that the government scrap G.O No. 465 which facilitates training and certification of registered and private medical practitioners (RMPs and PMPs).

Associations’ leaders expressed regret that the government brought the training of RMPs and PMPs on to the scene while the MBBS–qualified doctors and junior doctors have some problems pending resolution for a long time. The government’s decision to impart a year’s training to RMPs and PMPs and certify them as eligible to practice modern medicine, was detrimental to society and it was in violation of the norms of Medical Council of India besides being faulted by the High Court.
