DGP suspects conspiracy

December 30, 2014 01:02 am | Updated 01:02 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Director General of Police J. V. Ramudu on Monday said the police were inquiring into the fire mishaps and damage caused to agricultural equipment in the fields in Tullur and Tadepalli mandals.

Speaking to the newsmen here, he said a series of incidents were reported at Undavalli, Penamaka, Lingayapalem, Rayapudi and other villages in Guntur Rural and Urban police districts. “The incidents were reported in the villages early morning on Monday. Paddy heaps, some crops, banana plantations and agriculture material was destroyed in the proposed capital area.”

“We are probing the conspiracy angle. A group of miscreants might be involved in the incidents as one person cannot carry it out,” said Mr. Ramudu.

Police forces were deployed in the villages in Tullur and Tadepalli mandals to prevent any untoward incident. A hunt had been launched to nab the accused, the DGP added.
