Thousands of devotees took holy dip in the Bay of Bengal at Manginapudi beach on Friday on the occasion of Karthika Pournami. Police personnel and professional swimmers deployed to avoid any untoward incident.

The devotees who took part in the Panduranga Utsav and others those observing Karthika pournami were thronged the beach since early morning.

The district authorities and medical and health staff set up two medical camps on the beach, attending the needy.

The devotees were restricted to venture into deep sea to avoid any drowning incident in the wake of existing weather condition on the sea. Special boats were kept on standby to keep a constant vigil on the beach.
