The ruling Telugu Desam Party was promoting the worst kind of deception and exploitation in the State and it was up to the YSR Congress Party to put an end to this by bringing its president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to power, said senior party leader Botcha Satyanarayana here on Monday.
Addressing party leaders and workers at the Krishna District Plenary session held at Sitarama Gardens in Edupugallu near here, Mr. Satyanarayana said the party workers should strive to bring back the kind of rule the State had under the former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
The ‘hollowness’ in the construction of the temporary “capital” was recently exposed and for the same corrupt reasons the State Government was handing over the construction of the permanent capital to a Singapore company, he charged. One would wonder if there was government in the State, Mr. Satyanarayana said.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his son were themselves caught in the quicksand of corruption, said senior party leader Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. Mr. Naidu came to power with false promises and therefore the people were still recalling the wonderful rule of YSR, he said.
Gudivada MLA Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (alias Nani) said the Pulichintala Project had been set aside because if it was completed YSR would go down in history as the modern day Sir Arthur Cotton.
Krishna district YSR Congress party observer Adimula Suresh said the Telugu Desam Party leaders had been resorting to several anarchic acts in the past three years. They included attack on a woman Tahsildar and confining a police officer who was on duty. Though the Polavaram project was declared a national project, there was no scope of it being completed. The credit for all this went to the Chief Minister, Mr. Suresh said.
Party spokesperson Kolusu Parthasarathi and others addressed the cadre.
