Death anniversary of NTR observed

The TDP observed the 18 death anniversary of its founder-president and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao here on Saturday.

The party organised various programmes in different parts of the city.

The rank and file of the TDP paid tributes to N.T. Rama Rao on the occasion. The leaders garlanded the portrait of NTR at Sikhamani Centre in 18th division. The leaders distributed fruit to the aged and the poor. TDP Vijayawada (East) in-charge Gadde Rammohan Rao and leaders such as Yerneni Vedyavyas, Songa Ravindra Varma were present.

Another programme was organised near SRR College where TDP Vijayawada parliamentary constituency in-charge Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) and TDP Urban president Buddha Venkanna recalled the services of NTR to the film industry and the State.

Telugus regained their pride at a time when Congress leaders were mortgaging self respect in Delhi after NTR formed the Telugu Desam, they said.

TDP city committee members G. Guruprasad and Telugu Mahila Urban president Chennupati Usharani were present.

In Guntur, the party leaders garlanded NTR’s portrait at the party office and recalled the services of the former Chief Minister to the State. The leaders hoisted the party flag and paid tributes to NTR.

Speaking on the occasion, party State secretary Mannava Subba Rao said only TDP can restore the past glory of Andhra Pradesh.
