The Krishna district officials supplied around 50,000 packets of food to the Hudhud and flood-ravaged districts in north Andhra on Monday.

The Civil Supplies and Revenue Departments, with the help of agencies, prepared kits with tamarind rice, biscuits, curd, butter milk and water and transported them to the flood-hit areas.

Penamaluru tahsildar Murali Krishna said that around 7,500 packets were packed at Tadigadapa and had been sent to Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. Vijayawada Urban tahsildar R. Siva Rao was monitoring the food packing works at Vidyadharapuram in the city.

The food packets were transported through helicopters and by road, said the agencies.

Meanwhile, many philanthropists supplied food, water and milk packets to the flood victims from different places in Krishna district to East and West Godavari districts and other cyclone-affected areas.
