Akshara International School conducted various competitions and cultural programmes at Tummalapalli Kshetrayya Kala Kshetram here on Friday on the eve of International Women’s Day.

Students from all four branches of the school in city showed their talent. It was also a chance for their sisters, mothers and grandmothers to share the joy. Former Mayors Panchumarthi Anuradha and Mallika Begum participated as chief guests.

They stressed the need for women to grab opportunities coming their way in different fields with due support from the men. School Chairman K. Anil Kumar and Director K. Sarada Anil Kumar said there was nothing impossible for women who possessed the requisite skills and temperament to reach the heights of their career.
