CRDA to construct hall for visitors at CM camp office in the city

A large number of people coming to the Chief Minister’s camp office in the city to represent their grievances will have an exclusive hall constructed by the AP-Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA) in the coming months.

It is currently at the design stage and once the plans are finalised, tenders will be invited.

CRDA Commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar told The Hindu that the hall is meant to facilitate the CM’s meeting with the petitioners who cannot go all the way to Velagapudi.

A hall with 500 seating capacity has been proposed to be built to provide a convenient place where the public can have direct access to the CM. As of now, the CM camp office has limited space with no proper arrangements for the visitors seeking an audience with the CM.

The need has therefore been felt for the separate hall and the CRDA has been entrusted with that job.

Mr. Sreedhar said it is a temporary structure whose construction is to go through the mandatory tendering process. It will be helpful to those coming to the CM camp office daily.

It may be noted that the CM had started functioning from his camp office in the city on June 8, 2015, and eventually moved to the Secretariat in December 2016.
