VIJAYAWADA: The Krishna district unit of CPI(M) on Monday lashed out at the TDP government for failing to solve the problems being faced by the people.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu signed files pertaining to waiver of loans taken by the farmers, DWCRA women and weavers during swearing in ceremony, but nothing concrete had happened on this front even after completion of 100 days rule. These sections were facing hardships owing to the apathetic attitude of the government in coming to their rescue in time, said District Secretary R. Raghu while addressing a press conference here.

The statements issued by RBI, Ministers and senior officials on loan waiver were creating confusion among farmers. “If the government fails to resolve the miseries of farming community, then farmers’ may resort to suicide. A tenant farmer, Venkateswara from Jonnapada village from Gudivada already ended his life. A majority of farmers are facing problems for not getting loans from banks. Some are approaching the money lenders to get money at the rate of 10 per cent interest,” he said.

Almost same is the case with Dwcra women, Mr. Raghu said alleging that the government was planning to restrict pensioners after increasing amount from Rs.200 and Rs.500 to Rs.1,000 and Rs.1,500 respectively. If the government did not mend its ways, then the party would launch an agitation to protest the anti-people policies, he added.
