September 30, 2013 12:25 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 08:40 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretariat Member J. Wilson has asked its cadres to get ready for the three-day national-level satyagraha that the party is planning to launch from October 3.

Addressing a joint meeting of Mandal secretaries and district executives here on Sunday, he said that the satyagraha is being launched to protest against the corrupt and inefficient practices of both the State and the Central governments.

He pointed out that the rise in prices of essential commodities and fuel was affecting the common man.

He also said that the Food Security Bill will not give any security to the common man as the public distribution system has weakened.

Mr. Wilson also said that the farmer suicides have risen, as the government was not able to provide good remunerative prices to agricultural produce. City Assistant Secretary of the party P. Durga Bhavani was present.
