CPI (ML) Central Committee member Subodh Mitra has exhorted party cadre to herald a new democratic revolution that will check the exploitation of the Indian economy by capitalist and feudal forces, thereby protect rights of the impoverished masses.
“It is the basic duty of the CPI (ML) which has been at the forefront of peasant movements for decades, to strive for their welfare. The challenges are formidable, but we cannot give up our commitments for which hundreds of brave men and women laid down their lives,” he called upon participants in a seminar on Indian Communist Movement organized here on Friday in commemoration of Kanu Sanyal, one of the leaders of Naxalbari uprising and founders of CPI (ML).
Mr. Mitra said some domestic companies and multi-national corporations conducted their businesses as if India was their fiefdom because successive governments served their interests rather than discharge their bounden duty of protecting the fundamental rights of the people and enable them to make a decent living.
The gulf between haves and have-nots would continue to widen so long as India did not put an end to its subservience to international capitalists and imperialist forces which squeezed enough wealth out of the country pushing millions into penury forever.
CPI (ML) State leader K. Kotaiah said the party had taught its Communist brethren how to fight against the injustices meted to the poor people and was committed to keep its fight going.
Party leaders G. Vijay Kumar, Madhu and M. Sriramulu and others were present.
