Commissioner of Police N. Madhusudhan Reddy, in his thanks giving message to the staff, expressed satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the Navratri utsav celebrations in which lakhs of devotees visited Durga Temple atop Indrakeelaadri from September 28 to October 6.

The duties rendered by the revenue, municipal, fisheries, endowments and the police were commendable particularly when they efficiently managed huge crowds on the Dasara festival, Moola Nakshatram and Teppotsavam days. The services of NCC and NSS volunteers were very good as also the staff of the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Devasthanam and the priests there, he said.

Dr. Madhusudhan Reddy said that everybody worked hard day and night to make sure that there would be no untoward incident during the festival days. When there was a little tension due to damage of barricades on the last day, the police immediately took necessary steps and regulated the heavy rush of pilgrims and Bhavani devotees.

Mr. Reddy asserted that the successful conduct of the Dasara celebrations was possible with better coordination and support by all the concerned. Their efforts paid off well, he added.
