Demanding that the construction of the proposed subway and bus-bay at the Ambedkar Park near Krishnalanka fire station be taken up immediately, the 23rd division corporator Donepudi Kasinath of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Saturday expressed concern over the increasing number of accidents taking place at the junction.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Kasinath observed that at least 20 deaths were occurring every year in the road accidents on National Highway – 5 in the city limits, with the fire station junction turning into a virtual death trap.
