Patamata Police said APTransco officials had not lodged complaint. “We shifted the body to Government Hospital mortuary. It is not clear whether the death was due to the fall or electric shock. The exact cause will be known after post-mortem. We are waiting for a complaint to be lodged,” said SI Janardhan.

Meanwhile, residents in the area expressed concern over the negligent attitude of the officials and contractor.

“The contractor did not supply any security gears to the workers. Neither did the officials nor the contractor respond immediately after they were informed about the death,” said Pavan Kumar, a resident.
