Congress to stage dharna tomorrow

March 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:02 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The Congress, Krishna district unit, will stage demonstrations on March 31 at the Sub-Collector’s office, demanding that the TDP fulfil its promises to people. “The party has not fulfilled its promises, including farm loan waivers, DWCRA loans for which it had been coming up with conditions and lame excuses,” said DCC president Kadiyala Buchibabu here on Sunday.

He added that dharnas would also be organised near Nuzvid, Machilipatnam and Gudivada Revenue Divisional Offices. “In the past, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had staged a dharna demanding construction of the Kanaka Durga Flyover and whenever he visited Vijayawada, he promised to take up the project. But, the blueprint is yet to see the light of day,” City Congress chief Malladi Vishnu said.
