Activists of the opposition Congress party staged a demonstration in-front of the office of the Ongole Revenue Division Office (RDO) on Tuesday to register their protest against the ruling Telugu Desam Party “cheating” the electorate with false promises.

The activists led by its city unit president Sripathi Prakasam observed the day as “Praja Vanchana Dinam” (deception day) and reminded Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu of his un-kept poll promises to the people, before submitting a memorandum to the Ongole RDO Srinivasa Rao.

Leading the protest in Kanigiri, party district unit president M.Ugranarasimha Reddy said: “We will not rest till the TDP implements all the promises made in the election manifesto in toto.”

“It is unfortunate that the TDP, which promised everything free to the people, now blames the precarious financial position of the State for its inability to implement the poll promises including loan waiver for farmers and women fully,” added Dr. G.V.Raj Vimal leading the protest in Kandukur.

In Srikakulam, Congress Party observed Praja Vanchana Dinam alleging that the TDP had misled people with its false promises.

The party leaders Boddepalli Satyvati and Chowdary Satish criticised the ruling party for its ‘failure’ in implementing its poll promises.

They said Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu could not implement loan waiver and other assurances despite mentioning them in the manifesto.

The party workers raised slogans against the government.
