Congress leaders attack TD for its stand on ‘T’ issue

September 26, 2013 12:35 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 09:05 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

There was no need for the Congress to divide the State or keep the leader of a political party in jail to get its leader Rahul Gandhi elected as the Prime Minister of the country, said city Congress president Adapa Nagendra and working president Meesala Rajeswara Rao.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the leaders said that leaders of different political parties were saying one thing to the people of Telangana and something different to the people of Seemandhra.

The deception of TDP leaders was the worst, the Congress leaders said. While the party president N.Chandrababu Naidu was saying at every available forum that he had written to the Central Government to create separate Telangana, the district leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao was blaming the Congress for the proposal to divide it.

CPI leader K.Narayana who supported the creation of Telangana was also blaming the Congress for the unrest in the State.

They said these leaders had no moral right to make any comments on Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal who has been for an integrated State from the beginning.

Heads of the different wings of the party in the city Ummadi Dhanaraj, T.Nageswara Rao, Kalle Pulla Rao and Vasireddi Anuradha were present.
