Congress demands ₹10 lakh ex gratia

The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president N. Raghuveera Reddy hs demanded that the government pay an ex gratia of ₹ 10 lakh for the kin of those who were killed when boulders fell on them as a result of an explosion in a quarry near Phirangipuram in Guntur district on Saturday.

In a press release, the PCC chief demanded that those responsible for the deaths be brought to book. He said the others injured in the event should be provided the best medical attention.

Jagan expresses shock

YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is away in New Zealand, in a press release here, expressed “grief and shock” over the tragedy. He asked the district administration to provide quality treatment to the injured quarry workers and ex gratia to those who lost their lives.
