Union Minister for Tourism and Poll Campaign Committee in-charge for Andhra Pradesh K. Chiranjeevi has declared that the party will field committed young candidates in Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies in the forthcoming general elections.
“This is a golden opportunity for the youth. We are here to fight and let us gear up to face the challenge,’’ Mr. Chiranjeevi told to the enthusiastic party workers at a meeting here on Monday.
Filmy gyanMr. Chiranjeevi, along with, Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy, former Ministers Kanna Lakshminarayana, Dokka Manikya Vara Prasada Rao, Kondru Murali and Kasu Krishna Reddy addressed the party workers who turned up in sizeable numbers here as the Congress bus yatra began in the district on Monday. The yatra which began in Srikakulum on Friday has covered seven districts so far.
During the end of speech, Chiranjeevi added a filmy touch by calling upon the cadre to take a cue from his blockbuster film ‘Stalin’, and ensure the victory of the party candidates in local body and general elections.
Mr. Raghuveera Reddy, while explaining the circumstances in which the Congress took the painful decision to bifurcate the State, said that the party would take the responsibility of developing the residuary State. The district head quarters of 13 districts in Seemandhra would be developed on par with Hyderabad with the Central assistance.
Tearing into Narendra Modi, Mr. Reddy asserted that the BJP prime ministerial candidate bays for the blood of minorities. “Be wary of the regional parties including the TDP and YSRC who want to align with communal forces,” he said.
Former Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana asked the cadre to teach a befitting lesson to the leaders who had deserted the party in difficult times.
