: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary P. Suribabu on Thursday demanded that the State government reveal facts behind the sale of Sadavarti Satram land worth hundreds of crores for just Rs. 23 crore to private persons associated closely with the Telugu Desam Party.

Addressing the press here, Mr. Suribabu said that the land had been in the possession of the Tamil Nadu government since 1970 and the A.P. government sold it to private persons even as the actual owners were trying to get title deed from the TN government.

“The government in response to a query made by a company clarified that it has no right to sell the land since it was not in its possession but had sold it away. The government so far has not responded to any of the RTI queries made by the Congress RTI cell or other activists,” he said.

Mr. Suribabu demanded that the government immediately come out with answers to all ‘the fishy deals’ in the sale of the land. District Congress president N. Narasimha Rao was present.
