Municipal Commissioner J. Nivas on Thursday warned sanitation inspectors of disciplinary action if they failed to make sure all the workers properly registered their attendance before taking up the work allotted.

Mr. Nivas inspected the third and seventh sanitation divisions in the city and found that attendance of workers was being manually maintained.

He asked the authorities concerned to make sure that Aadhaar-based attendance was taken before workers left to attend to work allotted. Disciplinary action would be initiated against those neglecting sanitation work.

Mr. Nivas inspected Christurajpuram, LIC Colony, Jayaprakash Nagar, Veterinary Colony, Film Colony and other areas in the third division and asked the authorities to repair roads that were dug for laying UGD and drinking water pipelines.

He ordered public health officials to provide sufficient dumper bins in the seventh division where garbage was being thrown outside the bins.

Additional Commissioner D. Chandra Sekhar, Chief Medical and Health Officer M.Gopi Naik, Chief Engineer (in charge) P. Adi Seshu, health officer Dr. Ramakoteswara Rao and others were present.
